Watch: Right After Pelosi Rips Trump On Executive Order, Immediately Forced To Admit Truth

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has not shied away from criticizing President Donald Trump and his administration ever since Trump was inaugurated in January.

On Thursday, after Trump signed an executive order in an effort to reform parts of Obamacare, Pelosi’s attitude was no different. This time, though, she had to admit that she had nothing to back up her Trump-bashing.

During a news conference at the Capitol, Pelosi was asked by a reporter what her reaction was to Trump’s order.

“Can you respond to what we know about the President’s executive order on healthcare that they’re putting on today, and what your take is on him doing anything by executive order after essentially failing to get anything through Congress on healthcare?” the reporter asked.

In her response, Pelosi was forced to admit that she hadn’t even read the executive order, and thus didn’t know what it did.

“Well I don’t know what he’s putting out today, but I do know it is a sabotage of the Affordable Care Act,” she said. “And quite frankly, a real disservice to the American people, many of whom voted for him.”

“We do know that there is bipartisan support, even some of the high-ranking Republicans in Congress have said we should do the cross-sharing funds that are there. We have to take matters into our own hands as to having be navigators ourselves, to say to people this is the time to sign up.”

Later, she reiterated that she did not know what the executive order entailed.

“The president, not having seen what he has to say, but just judging from what he has said, knows very little about healthcare legislation,” she continued.

The executive order Trump signed sought to dismantle many aspects of Obamacare. It allows employers to offer coverage across state lines, and encourages small business to group together and purchase insurance via association health plans.

“The time has come to give Americans the freedom to purchase health insurance across state lines, which will create a truly competitive national marketplace that will bring costs way down and provide far better care,” read a Thursday morning statement by Trump.

Later in the day, Pelosi criticized the new executive order more, calling it “cynical” and claiming it is “designed to force families across America to pay the most when they can afford it the least.”

“Thanks to President Trump’s executive sabotage, the millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions could lose access to the affordable health coverage they and their families rely on,” Pelosi said in a statement.

Still, the order has received support from many, and Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul was even present as Trump signed it.
